Good Morning!

Thank you for your letter. I do understand your concerns, but at the same time I would very much appreciate an understanding for the different circumstances we live in. The Netherlands have 400 inhabitants per square kilometers, my home country has 17, in Lapland fewer than 2. We also have very different histories. According to my standards there are no such thing as "natural nature" in the Netherlands (if you don\t count "The New Wilderness" to natural nature).

When we speak about biodiversity we should probably be able to establish a year zero, towards which every EU Member State should strive.

You could probably argue that most of the environmental problems and challenges you face are due to a - from an environmental point of view - a too high concentration of human beings.
